Hey guys! I'd not even thought of investing in a primer of any sorts but I'd heard people say that they were worth it. When I bought my mum's birthday present recently from Estée Lauder they had an offer for two sample sized products to be sent also, which I sneakily took for myself. (Heehee!) I chose the Matte Perfecting Primer and the Lash Primer Plus and have been very pleased with them despite the reviews.
As someone who has never used a primer before this is the only one I've used and other primers out there may be better, but I was really pleased with this! The product is meant to create a matte finish and minimise oiliness, which I think it does really well. When applied it feels like silk and creates a much better finish for foundation than just using foundation on its own. I did this yesterday and was actually shocked at the difference it makes using a primer! In short: eff da haterz. ;) Also this tiny little bottle has lasted at least a month and a half, so I'm very impressed.
I have to confess that I'm less impressed with the eyelash primer, which is intended to create more volume and length and generally make your mascara go the extra mile. I didn't notice much difference with volume but I would say it increases lash length a little, and I've never had a problem with the staying power of a mascara so it doesn't seem to make a lot of difference. As a freebie it's a nice little extra, but I probably won't repurchase this.

I've only ever owned an Estee Lauder mascara before and loved it till it died on me and haven't brought myself to part with that amount of money for a mascara again. But I really want to buy one of their eyeshadow palettes! I think they're soooo pretty

I am obsessed with primers, I feel weird if I don't put one on first now! The only problem I find with them is some really clog my skin up. I currently use either NARS or the Smashbox one as they're both oil free & really good. I've never found an eyelash primer I thought was any good though!
ReplyDeleteI still need to find a decent primer and this one sounds great. The only Estée Lauder product I own is a lip gloss I got years ago as a gift, I liked it so I'm not sure why I haven't bothered to try anymore products.

I was talked into an eyeshadow primer at Sephora and I have to admit it works and keeps the color bright, but I am somewhat lazy and don't use it. You've taken me to task and I am going to start!
